Tanya Doody Studio is a place to house my art practice and functional ceramics shop.

I gravitate to clay in all aspects of my practice: the performative, the functional, the sculptural. The tactile nature of the material offers a dialogue, back and forth from gesture to material, and from the material back to the sensation of touch. I enjoy the immediacy of the feedback and reciprocity I have with clay.

Objects to Live With

Functional design for objects we live with. In my functional ceramics I try to balance the excitement and freshness of current design trends with the longevity and timelessness of well-considered and thoughtful design. Everything in the shop is individual, one-of-a-kind, or made in limited-run small batches in the TDC studio in Southern Alberta, Canada.
